The Bigglesmere Kennels were founded in the mid 1970s, based in West Yorkshire, England. Our original breed were German Shepherds,in which we concentrated on obedience and working trials, but soon branched out to showing Rough Collies. Over the years we have shown various breeds, including Shetland Sheepdogs, Border Collies, Smooth Collies, Japanese Spitz, Miniature Pinchers, Papillons ,Chihuahuas and Lowchens.
In the last few years we have introduced into the Kennel , Miniature Wire-Haired Dachshunds, Griffon Bruxellois and a Pug.
Lowchens are our main breed, and the one we have enjoyed considerable success with, gaining Best of Breed at Crufts in 1996 and 1997 with Ch Beaulion Brahms’n List, and in both cases being pulled out into the last seven in the Toy group. At Crufts in 2005 we achieved another milestone, being only the second kennel in the breed to achieve the double. breeding both challenge certificates. From November 2003 to November 2004 another record was achieved by the Bigglesmere Lowchen’s, when we had the privilege of breeding 3 Specialty BIS winners on 3 different Continents, Australia, Canada, and here in the UK . In 2006 we also did the double at the Lowchen Club Championship Show.
